Reserve a Place of Honor at Veterans Memorial Park

Each November 11, the nation takes time to recognize all who have served in the United States military with the observance of Veterans Day.

Veterans Memorial ParkFor locals seeking a special way to honor those who have served, Commerce City’s Veterans Memorial Park, located at 6015 Forest Dr., offers custom-etched pavers for purchase to permanently recognize military heroes. New pavers are placed annually before the city’s Memorial Day parade, with those veterans being recognized during a special wreath-laying ceremony at the park.

Bricks are available for purchase starting at $100. Service logos can be included for an additional $50 on larger pavers. Proof of military service or active duty papers of the veteran being recognized must be provided. All pavers are dark gray in color and feature white inscriptions.

The deadline for purchasing pavers in advance of the Memorial Day Parade is Mar. 31.

Orders can be placed at either of the city’s recreation centers (Eagle Pointe, 6060 E. Parkway Dr., or Bison Ridge, 13905 E. 112th Ave.) For more information on the paver program, download an application or contact the parks and recreation registration office at 303-289-3789.
